Our core tests.
DEXA Body Scan
Gold-standard accuracy on the same DEXA hospitals use. Body fat %, lean muscle, belly fat and bone, by region.
RMR Metabolism Test
Measures your resting metabolism. The DexaFit app turns it into daily calorie targets to lose fat, maintain or build muscle.
VO2 Max Test
One of the strongest markers of long-term health. Sets your personal heart-rate training zones. Walk, run or cycle.

Bone Density Scan
The test doctors use to diagnose osteopenia and osteoporosis. T-score and Z-score for your lower spine and both hips, no referral. Printout or physician review.
Book one, or combine.
Any test on its own, or two or three in a single appointment — most people do DEXA + RMR together. Every visit includes time to go through your results with you before you leave. No referral, HSA/FSA eligible.
Stack tests, save more.
Two or more tests in one visit cost less than booking them separately — and there are couples versions of every pack. Two or more tests, one visit, lower price.
What we measure. And why it matters.
The numbers your scale can’t see — measured, not estimated, and reviewed with you before you leave.

The scale gives you one number. A DEXA scan gives you the breakdown.
Fat, lean muscle and bone, measured one region at a time. Two people can weigh the same and carry very different risk, metabolism and needs. The scale blurs them together; a DEXA scan separates them — and you go through it with us before you leave.
DEXA reads body fat to roughly ±2%. Smart scales and handheld monitors can be 8–15% off.

VO2 max is how efficiently your body uses oxygen. It predicts all-cause mortality more reliably than smoking, blood pressure or cholesterol, and it drives the biological age in your DexaFit app. Most people have never had it measured. Walk, run or cycle — your pace.
The least-fit fifth died at roughly five times the rate of the fittest, across 122,007 adults.
Mandsager et al., JAMA Network Open, 2018It wraps around your organs. The mirror never shows it.
Visceral fat sits deep around the liver and heart and drives inflammation around the clock. You can’t pinch it and BMI misses it. DEXA reports it in pounds — under 1 lb is where you want to be — and you can watch it move scan to scan.
Elevated visceral fat is linked to substantially higher cardiovascular risk in large population studies, independent of BMI.

An RMR test measures the calories you burn at rest from your breath — 15 minutes reclining under a clear canopy, no mask, no formula, no age-and-weight guess. App estimates are often 20–30% off, which is the difference between a plan that works and one that stalls. Measure the real number, then eat to it.
The typical gap between an estimated resting metabolic rate and a measured one.

Osteoporosis has no symptoms and no warning; the first sign is often the fracture. Every DEXA body scan includes whole-body bone density, and our site-specific scan of the lower spine and both hips gives you the T-score and Z-score for each site, the numbers doctors use — no referral, with a physician review if you want it.
About half of women and up to one in four men over 50 will break a bone because of osteoporosis.
Source: Bone Health & Osteoporosis FoundationEvery goal. Every starting line.
If you’d rather build on measurements than estimates, this is the place.
No goal yet? Begin with a baseline.
One scan, and the guesswork about your body ends.
- No goal required. One baseline makes every decision that follows clearer.
- A routine checkup leaves gaps. We fill them with numbers your doctor can use.
- Training, nutrition and goals click into place once the baseline exists.
You’ll have a starting line, not a guess about where you stand.
Lose the fat. Keep the muscle.
The scale dropped. But which pounds did you lose?
- The scale blends fat and muscle into one figure. A DEXA scan pulls them apart, down to the pound.
- On a GLP-1, roughly 1 in 3 pounds lost can be lean mass. You’ll see exactly where yours is going.
- An RMR test shows what your metabolism is doing about it — and what to eat.
Six months on, you’ll know whether you shed the right weight, not simply less of it.
Your body is changing. See what’s behind it.
The shifts that matter most stay hidden from view.
- Menopause pushes fat inward, toward the organs. The mirror never shows it; a DEXA scan records it.
- Bone loss speeds up around menopause. A 30-minute visit gives you a number to act on — no referral.
- Metabolism slows through perimenopause. An RMR test tells you by how much.
You stop wondering whether it’s hormones or habits, and start seeing which.
Hold your strength. Keep your edge.
The numbers behind how well you hold up past 40.
- You lose 3–8% of lean mass each decade after 30. A DEXA scan tracks it region by region, so you know what to protect.
- Belly fat hides deep around the organs, beyond anything the mirror shows. DEXA measures it directly.
- VO2 max and resting metabolism shape how you train and eat. Both measured, not pulled from a watch.
At 50 you’ll know exactly what you held onto, and what it took.
Longevity starts with one number.
Wearables catch the signal. We measure the body underneath it.
- In 122,007 adults, VO2 max predicted mortality more closely than smoking or diabetes (Mandsager et al., JAMA 2018).
- Belly fat is linked to cardiovascular risk, and BMI is blind to it. DEXA reports it in pounds.
- Every retest compares you against your own history, so the trend sharpens visit by visit.
In five years you’ll own a trend line, not a vague memory of how you used to feel.
Train with precision. Prove it paid off.
Close enough leaves progress on the table. See your real margins.
- VO2 max caps your output. Your watch guesses at it; we measure it, with zones built from your own numbers.
- Lean muscle comes back split by arm, leg and trunk — detail no scale or band can reach.
- RMR reveals what you burn at rest, so you fuel the work from numbers, not hunches.
Rescan in 90 days and you’ll know whether the work built muscle or just moved the scale.
Measure first. Then trust.
Most people do it backward: commit to the plan, then judge it off a mirror, a scale or a gut feeling. We make the check exact.
Set your baseline
Book online — no referral, no prescription, no insurance pre-approval. Before the program, the protocol or the prescription, your true starting point goes on record. A DEXA on its own is the most common first visit.
Run your plan
Whatever you and your doctor, trainer or nutritionist settle on. We don’t sell you the plan — we tell you the truth about what it did. Most tests take 6–20 minutes; no needles, nothing rushed.
Return and check
Three to six months is the sweet spot — long enough for real change, soon enough to course-correct. Every visit we go through your numbers with you before you leave, and they land in the DexaFit app to track scan to scan.
Three questions before you book.
Do I need a referral?
No. Book online, come in, and we go over your results with you before you leave. No prescription, no insurance pre-approval. HSA/FSA cards are accepted.
What should I do before I come?
DEXA: fast at least 2 hours, metal-free clothing, shoes come off so bring socks. Bone density: no fasting at all — just no calcium supplements for 24 hours. RMR: fast 5+ hours, no caffeine that day. VO2 Max: a light meal 3–5 hours out or fasted, and bring shoes you can walk in. Full rules on the test prep page.
Can I do two tests in one visit?
Yes — most people do DEXA + RMR together in about 45 minutes. Packs save $50, The Works saves $100, and every pack has a couples version. See pricing.

Sources & notes
- Reported precision (repeatability) of DEXA for total-body fat measurement; varies by scanner, software and operator. Consumer bioelectrical-impedance devices (smart scales, handheld monitors) show substantially wider error in validation studies.
- Mandsager K, et al. JAMA Network Open. 2018;1(6):e183605 — observational cohort of 122,007 patients referred for exercise treadmill testing; adjusted all-cause mortality compared the lowest-performing with the elite-performing group. Findings in a referred clinical population may not generalize.
- Belly (visceral) fat and cardiometabolic risk: large cohort studies (including the Framingham Heart Study) report associations independent of BMI. Association is not causation, and individual risk varies.
- Comparisons of predictive resting-metabolic-rate equations against measured indirect calorimetry; accuracy varies substantially between individuals.
- Lifetime fracture risk attributable to osteoporosis, Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation; figures are population estimates for adults over 50.
- DEXA bone density: International Society for Clinical Densitometry Official Positions (Adult and Pediatric). T-scores are not used for clients under 20; Z-scores are reported instead.
